My name is Natalie Alatorre-Padilla and I am a graduating BASW Student from UW Seattle and incoming Advanced Standing Master of Social Work student with a specialization in Community Centered Integrative Practice. I am a first-generation Mexican-American and I am interested in working in immigrant law after becoming a licensed social worker! I am passionate about Hispanic Mental Health and social justice for refugees, undocumented and asylum seeker communities. This scholarship is immensely helping me financially cover my studies as I come from a low-income household where higher education is too far-fetched but now is made possible with generous donors. Thanks to the Class of 1954, I am able to live my dream and purpose of helping those in need.

Goals

I want to become a licensed social worker working with immigrant, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ communities in therapy, social services, and advocacy. Then, I want to become an immigration lawyer to help dismantle the broken systems of the justice system and provide my communities with relief.

Tips

Be yourself, stay authentic, and most of all, don't use AI!
