Alumni Reunion, Class Gift & Spence Scholarships
2024 (awarded)
Major: Community, Environment, and Planning
Hometown: Seattle

Thank you for awarding me this generous scholarship! I’m studying Community, Environment, and Planning at the University of Washington because I want to work to achieve a more accessible and sustainable society. I plan to work for a city government on planning/transportation.

As an active and engaged citizen, I serve my community in various ways, such as planting trees, organizing litter cleanups, and volunteering at institutions like my local food bank or public library.

This summer, I will attend a study-abroad program in Paris. This program will focus on how Paris is building a more sustainable city while preparing to host the Olympic games.

This scholarship will help me attain my degree, so I want to express my gratitude for being awarded it. Thank you so much!

Goals

My first goal is to finish my degree. My second goal is to obtain a job where I can influence planning and policy in a meaningful way.
